I send messages for several domains via one IP address. Is this possible with EuropeanMX?

Yes, it is possible to send messages for several domains via one IP address. Here you have 2 possibilities to set up in EuropeanMX:

  • Recording of all outgoing messages for all domains that send via the IP address set up under one user
All outgoing messages are collected under the domain under which the IP address was created as an outgoing user, regardless of the host name. All messages can be viewed collectively in the log search of the main domain.
  • Outgoing messages are recorded separately by domain
All outgoing messages are displayed in the log search of the respective domain.

How does the setup work if all messages shall be collected under one domain?

1
Log into the Admin panel

Log into the Admin Panel at the domain you want to use as the main domain and under which the messages of all domains will be collected later. To learn how to log into the Admin Panel, see our FAQ article "How can I log in to the Admin-Panel (web interface of the filter)?".

2
Creating the outgoing user under the main domain

Go to the "Outgoing" section, click on "Manage Users", enter the IP address under "Authenticating IP or Range" and click on "Add and Configure". Set the limits according to the settings of your mail server (please see our FAQ article "How do I set up an outgoing user?" for more information about the configuration of the outgoing filter). Save the settings to complete the setup.

3
Configuration completed

All sent messages that are  forwarded from this IP to our filter servers are now displayed in the log search of the domain where you created the IP address as outgoing user.

How does the setup work if all messages shall be collected under the respective domain?

Please make sure first that the domains for which the messages are to be collected under the respective domain are really set up in EuropeanMX!

1
Log into the Admin panel

Log into the Admin Panel at the domain you want to use as the main domain and under which the messages of all domains will be collected later. To learn how to log into the Admin Panel, see our FAQ article "How can I log in to the Admin-Panel (web interface of the filter)?".

2
Creating an outgoing user for the main domain

Go to the "Outgoing" section, click on "Manage Users", enter the IP address under "Authenticating IP or Range" and click on "Add and Configure". Set the limits according to the settings of your mail server (please see our FAQ article "How do I set up an outgoing user?" for more information about the configuration of the outgoing filter).

Change the option "Re-authenticate as:" in the user's configuration to the value "Sender domain".

3
Creating an outgoing user for the additional domain

After you have created the outgoing user for the main domain, you must create an outgoing user for your additional domains. Log into the admin panel of the additional domain and click under "Outgoing" on "Manage users". Change to the "Authenticating Domain" tab and enter an arbitrary password (the password is not required later in this scenario!). Click on "Add and configure" and set the limits according to your mail server's settings (please see our FAQ article "How do I set up an outgoing user?" for more information on setting up the outgoing filter).

Activate the option "Re-authentication allowed"!

4
Configuration completed

All messages that are now forwarded to our filter servers via the configured IP should now be displayed under the respective domain in the log search.
