Core functions
The most important aspects of our DNS filtering system
When we talk about artificial intelligence in the field of cyber security, it is mostly about automation. The continuous scanning of web content with extremely high predictive performance enables fast categorization of domains.
This procedure, called "DNS Threat Intelligence," is used to determine trustworthy domains and serves the proactive protection of your network, unlike antivirus programs, for example, which only function reactively. Based on constant analysis and evaluation of online activity, it is decided whether a website is resolved and displayed or not.
Our AI examines approximately 200,000 websites daily in 24 languages and can currently assign them to 90 categories. With a detection rate of over 90% and more than 190 million websites examined so far, our AI offers an optimal level of protection against cyber threats (malware, ransomware, botnets, phishing, etc.).
Nowadays, people are aware that malware poses a major threat, but they underestimate the fact that they could be victims or accomplices of hackers, so they often avoid or remove protective measures on their devices as they see them as unnecessary obstacles while browsing. Our filtering solution provides preventive protection against malware, ransomware, botnets, phishing, and other attacks by blocking browsing on dangerous domains regardless of the device.
In addition to these fundamentally harmful contents, there is, of course, a variety of subjectively classified as unwanted contents. Therefore, companies, schools, public institutions, service providers, as well as households, want to determine which contents are allowed or unwanted or set restricted usage times.
Here, too, our AI is used, which continuously categorizes website contents into a variety of categories, thus enabling easy blocking of entire topic areas that works independently of the device used and cannot be easily bypassed.
EuropeanWF uses data centers on all continents for a stable service that is among the fastest in the world. If it detects an overloaded server, it redirects the request to the nearest location. Our Anycast network is proactively monitored and guarantees excellent response time and security.
With 24/7 protection against DDoS attacks using traffic mitigation and blackhole routing (blackholing) of malicious attacks, and an average availability of 99%, our scalable and highly available Anycast network is an outstanding extension of your network security.
With our geography-based protection system, access to websites and servers from certain countries can be blocked. Unfortunately, there are still a number of countries where internet-based attacks or the provision of inappropriate content occur more frequently due to a lack of legislation or enforcement. Websites and servers from these countries therefore pose a greater risk of compromise or malware infection. In addition to the possibility of blocking entire regions, websites can also be designated as trusted through the Allow List function.
The term "Granular Filtering" refers to the ability to set differentiated browsing filter policies. Designing and managing various protection policies in your own network can be done according to users, groups, departments, machines, and schedules. For example, access to social networks can be blocked during business hours for all departments, except for management and marketing departments.
Integration with popular Remote Monitoring & Management tools and administrative software, including MS Active Directory, allows for immediate profile synchronization, enabling faster adjustment of filters.
Our secure search offers more than the usual content filter to block explicit content in text, images and videos. Thanks to the cloud-based solution, there is no easy way for the user to bypass the filtering policies. Even the incognito search no longer shows content that is prohibited in the policies. Furthermore, explicit and banned content no longer appears in Google and YouTube search results.
Detailed historical or real-time traffic reports by category, country, period, users, specific category, and much more with automatic email function.
Currently, we offer the following standard reports:
Managing settings through a central dashboard gives you all the freedom in managing filters within your organization. This function is not about the well-known multi-instance architectures, which are about sharing functions among multiple users, or service-oriented architectures (SOA), which enable collaboration and data sharing. Here, each user can use the entire software functionality separately, without having to worry about impairments or privacy issues with other managed users. This feature is perfect for MSPs and administrators who want to manage customers or branches separately but centrally.
The integration into the MS Active Directory is easily and quickly done thanks to a native Windows plug-in that can synchronize AD objects. In this case, passwords and personal data are explicitly not included, thus ensuring full compliance with the guidelines of the EU GDPR.
Through direct integration, users and groups can be synchronized with the MS Active Directory to quickly and comprehensively implement individual filter rules.
As an optional additional application, we offer a locally installable DNS cache in your network environment, which primarily serves to optimize processes related to DNS queries and resolutions.
In this process, the performed DNS queries as well as the responses or rejections received from the cloud are cached, thus further optimizing resolution times.
Enable the Local Cache on the virtual or physical machine and activate cloud synchronization to guarantee continuous security.
With endpoint protection, the DNS filter benefits can also be applied when the employee is not connected via the company network. The endpoint protection, which can be installed as an additional application, is compatible with major operating systems such as Microsoft Windows™, Android™, iOS™, Chromebook™, and Mac OS™.
Even with slow internet connections, the protection can be used as only the DNS traffic is filtered without the need to transmit additional analysis data.
Our endpoint protection for smart working and remote learning provides the same level of protection for home office and remote working employees as it does on-site in the company.
