How can I register an LEI?


Applying for a Legal Entity Identifier Code, also known as an LEI number, is easy. The LEI application form requires very little information, making it possible to apply within minutes. The LEI team will do the security check and can validate the application on the same business day, if there are no queries or further verification is required.

Important: Therefore, please make sure to provide all necessary information with your application to enable a quick allocation of your Legal Entity Identifier.

You can apply for your LEI code here. To do so, click on "REGISTER NEW LEI" if you do not yet have an LEI number or on "RENEW EXISTING LEI" if you want to renew your existing LEI.

Decide on the term of your legal entity identifier

Currently you can select LEI - codes with a term of 1, 3 or 5 years.

Before the expiration of the selected term you will receive a reminder, an automatic renewal of the LEI number is not possible. Please note in this context the information about an expired LEI number.

Data for LEI code registration

Now please enter the information required for your LEI application.

Please make sure to use the exact title of the entity name with the corresponding registration number.

Any representative of the entity can file the application on behalf of the legal entity. The filed representative, for example, the managing director, management board or other person authorized to act on behalf of the entity, must be listed in the register entry. Otherwise, we require appropriate documents, for example, from the application of the entity or via a Letter of Authority.

The so-called "Level 2 data"

Level 2 data refers to possible parent companies. If the applying company is, for example, a branch or subsidiary of a larger organization, this connection can be stored in the LEI data record.

Please note that there is no obligation to specify any existing parent companies. Also, the information about the Level 2 company can only be entered if the company consolidates its financial statements and the subsidiary for which you want to apply for the LEI code is listed there.

Possible rework
Optimally, no further data is required. If the vetting team cannot find your company with the submitted data or if the data does not match the information deposited in the register, it will be necessary to provide this evidence in the form of a register extract or Certificate of Incumbency to complete the LEI validation.

In the next step you need to create a user account with us. The user account is valid independently from LEI codes and can be used for all offered EUNETIC products. The contact details for the user account can of course differ from the previously provided data for the LEI code registration.
