I have an LEI number but the bank says it is invalid or inactive.

Before a financial transaction can take place, banks and securities service providers check whether the LEI number you have provided is valid. This is done via the GLEIF database, which can be accessed by anyone. The GLEIF database is updated once a day at 14:00 CEST. If you have registered your LEI number recently, it may not have been published in the database yet. Instruct the bank or securities service provider to check the validity again the following day.
