Can I protect various sub-domains with a single certificate?

An SSL certificate is usually issued for a specific hostname. This means that an SSL certificate for "secure.yourdomain.com" cannot be used for another hostname, e.g. "store.yourdomain.com".

To remove this restriction, we offer the EuropeanSSL Wildcard certificate. This type of certificate allows you to protect an unlimited number of subdomains under the same main domain. For example, a wildcard certificate for "*.yourdomain.com" protects:

  • secure.yourdomain.com
  • store.yourdomain.com
  • xyz.yourdomain.com

Our wildcard certificates can also be used on an unlimited number of physical servers. Thus, there are no additional license fees when using a wildcard certificate on multiple servers.
