If an IP address changes that is used in multiple zones, then it can be very tedious to have to change them individually. To make it easier for you to make recurring changes to multiple zones, we have included a mass update option with different features. This can be found in the drop-down menu "Tools" under "DNS Zones". Below you can find a description of the different functions.
If an IP address in your network changes, because you have e.g. changed to another server, then you can use this function to replace the existing IP address with the new IP address. To do this, enter the old and new IP address and then click on "Replace".
The function searches all zones for the existing IP address and shows you an overview in which all domains are listed for which the IP address was found.
Select the domains in whose DNS zone the IP address is to be replaced and then click on "Submit".
If you want to change the TTL (Time-to-Live) value for certain zone types, then you can do this with the second function. First select the desired type (A, AAAA, CAA, CNAME, etc.) and then specify the new TTL value.
The TTL value shows the number of seconds a domain is cached locally before it expires and is returned to authoritative name servers for updated information.
Click "Replace" to proceed to the next step.
The function searches for the selected type in all zones and shows you an overview in which all domains are listed for which this zone type was found.
Now select the domains in whose DNS zone the TTL value is to be adjusted. Click on "Submit" to apply the new value.
With this function you are able to replace certain values within the DNS zone of your domains.
The function searches for the entered values in all zones and shows you an overview in which all domains are listed for which these values were found.
Now select the domains in whose DNS zone the values are to be adjusted. Click on "Submit" to apply the new value.
