Are you able to migrate existing archives?

Yes, the migration of your old messages into our archive is possible. Please note the following steps:

1

Export the desired messages and ensure that they are in .eml format.

Other formats such as .msg, .mbox, .pst or other binary formats are not supported during import.

2
  • If you want to import incoming and outgoing messages separately, you must create separate archives for incoming and outgoing messages for each domain.

By default, all messages are imported as incoming and are therefore only visible in the inbox logs, unless they are explicitly saved in a folder for outgoing messages.
  • These archives must contain all emails in a single folder for the domain in .eml format, i.e. a "flat structure".
    • No subfolders are accepted: We are not able to reduce directory structures, so the import request will be rejected.
3

Host the files on a website that allows direct access via an FTP/HTTP/HTTPS URL.

  • Test whether the file(s) can be downloaded using cURL or a similar command line only application.
  • Only files that are accessible via general command line programs can be imported.

4

Please contact our support and provide us with a way to download the .zip file(s) (suitable for use with cURL/wget).

The .zip file(s) must be available for download. Physical storage media will not be accepted.

5

We will now process all data and add it to your domain's EuropeanMX archive.

There are many export tools that can convert your messages from the existing .eml format to the open source format. If it is not possible to provide the messages in .eml format, we can also set up an IMAP account for you, into which you can copy the e-mails from your mail client.
