What is the difference between Strict and Multipurpose?


You can purchase our authentication certificates (S/MIME) from us in two different versions: Strict and Multipurpose. While the Strict variant can only be used for authenticating e-mail messages, Multipurpose certificates can also be used for signing documents (e.g. PDFs) or for authentication at access systems (e.g. for a login).
