What is HAM? How can I report HAM messages?

Only messages that are sent to us in their original form (with the original headers) can be trained. Messages that are forwarded or copied message content are not sufficient for the training system!

HAM emails are legitimate, wanted and useful emails that are not spam (junk) emails. The term "HAM" is often used to emphasize the difference between unwanted emails (spam) and wanted emails (HAM). In contrast, spam emails are unwanted bulk emails that often have fraudulent or irrelevant content and are usually sent without the consent of the recipient.

If it should happen that a message has been undesirably blocked, you can report it as non-spam (HAM). For this purpose, we have included a Report non-spam function in our filter, which you can use to report messages in EML or MSG format. The messages are then used to train our filter and further improve spam detection.

You have 2 options to report a non-spam message to us:

Variant 1: Reporting via Admin-Panel

In the admin panel under Incoming > Train messages, you can report messages that have been incorrectly marked as spam by the filter. To do this, add the message using drag & drop (drag in with the mouse pointer) or via the button Browse and select Legitimate message(s) in the second step. Click on Next to upload the messages to our server. Normally, however, you can also release the message directly via the quarantine and send a copy to the training server.

Variant 2: Forwarding as attachment via mail client

Another way to report spam is to send us the message as an attachment to our address notspam@europeanmx.eu It is important to note that the corresponding message may only be forwarded as an attachment. Otherwise, the report cannot be processed by the server. Unfortunately, it is not possible to open a new message and add the spam message as an attachment by dragging and dropping, since in most cases the important header of the message is changed or damaged. Please mark the message for forwarding, right-click on it and select Forward as attachment (Thunderbird).
